Factorio is a resource gathering game with real-time strategy and survival elements, with influences from the BuildCraft and IndustrialCraft mods for the Minecraft computer game. The player has to survive by finding and harvesting resources to build tools and machines, which can then create more advanced materials to allow for the creation of more sophisticated technologies. As further depth into the game is reached, the player may be building and managing an automated factory-style system, which can mine, transport, process and assemble resources. Players research advanced technologies that allow them to create new structures and items, starting with basic automation and leading to drones and exoskeletons.

The game is formally "won" by launching a rocket with a satellite, though many breakthroughs ignore this goal and just build interesting factories instead, as Factorio is an open world game. Constructing the rocket takes massive amounts of resources, forcing the player to set up an sizable effective factory to complete the game. There are achievements for finishing the game in under 15 or under 8 hours, which indicates the expected completion time for a skilled player. The any speedrunning world record is 1 hour 59 minutes, but that is with a favorable map seed and aliens set to peaceful.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 14 years ago.

TerraTech is an open world sandbox survival game from Payload Studios. Set amongst the stars, this is the story of an Earth contending with an expanding population and environmental damage, with profit-driven multinational corporations leading the charge to seek out and colonise new planets.

Your job is to lead that assault, building contraptions and vehicles out an array of different parts – some scavenged from others – as you look to harvest resources from your new endless, alien home to send back to Earth. This means, as well as tracking down the planet’s assets ahead of your rivals, you will also find yourself taking them on in direct combat, clearing the way for your fleet to dominate the off world.

And with said battles come the spoils of war. New vehicle parts and weapons can be scavenged from other prospectors or built from the minerals and resources you find, and by testing new technologies or discovering new blueprints you can further boost your fleet's capabilities.

The gameplay is team-based. There are four different classes of vessels: destroyers, cruisers, battleships, and aircraft carriers; these vessels span across ten tiers within the technology trees of several nations. The tech trees included the United States Navy, the Imperial Japanese Navy, Kriegsmarine, Royal Navy, Soviet Navy, the Polish Navy, the Republic of China Navy, the French Navy and the People's Liberation Army Navy. Through research of each ship from each tier, a player can progress through the game. Each specific ship has a number of modules that can be accessed through experience. This experience is used to unlock modules, and when a ship's modules are completely researched, the player can continue to the next ship and the previous becomes an Elite ship. Submarines and torpedo boats will not be present in World of Warships.

Players are randomly assigned to teams, and generally play with and against similar-tier vessels. The game's co-operative mode involves teams of players battling against computer-controlled opponents, while the random battle mode features teams of human players battling against one another. Battles take place on a limited number of specific maps, each map depicting a specific location with different geographical layouts. Criteria for victory in a given scenario are outlined at the start of play, and typically requires occupying one or more specific locations on a map for a given period of time, or destroying all enemy players. Each vessel has unique strengths and weaknesses, and the likelihood of victory in a given scenario relates directly to the willingness of players to work cooperatively.

Tower defense (or informally TD) is a subgenre of strategy video game where the goal is to defend a player's territories or possessions by obstructing enemy attackers, usually achieved by placing defensive structures on or along their path of attack. This typically means building a variety of different structures that serve to automatically block, impede, attack or destroy enemies. Tower defense is seen as a subgenre of real-time strategy video games, due to its real-time origins, though many modern tower defense games include aspects of turn-based strategy. Strategic choice and positioning of defensive elements is an essential strategy of the genre.

PlanetSide 2 is a re-imagining of PlanetSide, featuring the same world and factions, and taking place at roughly the same time period. As in the previous game, it features territory control in an open-world, large battles featuring up to 2000 players per continent on foot or in land/air vehicles. The territory system differs greatly from that of the original, being more free-form and based on a hexagonal territory control system. Former SOE (now DBG) took into account balance issues from the first game. As stated by creative director Matthew Higby, they reward combatants on lower population empires through mechanics such as proportionally increased advancement rates and resources to aid the balance of overall empire saturation on each server as much as possible without force-restricting players from being able to play with their friends.

It is a faster paced game than the original Planetside and holds the ability to feature potentially thousands of players. It also features familiar first person shooter elements such as sprinting, iron sights, and regenerating shields. An important aspect is that player skill and teamwork are major determiners when it comes to being able to kill other players and overcome opposing teams. Unlockable skills are available and offer different advantages over enemies in battle. The game also features a day and night cycle, meaning that battles happen in different times of day, which affects gameplay, as night time provides excellent cover for coordinated attacks.

In SimplePlanes the player is tasked to build a plane using the materials and objects provided. Downloadable planes created by the community can also be downloaded. When the plane is finished, the player can fly it around the open-world physics-based map. The game also has the ability to build cars and other mechanical objects. SimplePlanes contains challenges which the player can do. The challenges involve short tutorial-type activities such as the "take-off tutorial" and the "landing tutorial" but can get more advanced with missions such as "SAM Evasion" and "Trench Run".

The player can build units and pick them up and can place them down on the battlefield to take part in the battle. The main objective of the game is to destroy the other team's fortress and/or keep the player's fortress running. The fortress spawns creeps which are infantry units that can capture outposts. Outposts are buildings that can heal AirMechs and units if they are picked up.

Players can unlock units, pilots and AirMechs with ingame currency called kudos, which are earned after each match is completed. Players also gain persistent XP on completion of matches. The player can unlock various units as their level increases. Alternatively, players can purchase diamonds which can unlock units and cosmetics. Any pilot/unit/item/airmech/part that affects gameplay can be bought with kudos.
